howlin' for you.

So the Black Keys concert was last night. It was pretty much unreal. To say I was excited would be an understatement, and they totally surpassed my expectations. My favourite part was the enormous disco ball that came up when they played Everlasting Light. It was almost too much for me to take. Swooooooon. xx

Here's an awesome clip from their show the night before, in Edmonton.

thirty days of music.

Because this is one of 21 things I would rather do instead of writing my sociology paper.

day 01 - your favorite song: Hypnotize by the Notorious BIG. This was a tough call but I think the rest of my faves appear elsewhere on the list.

day 02 - your least favorite song: Raise Your Glass by P!nk. I absolutely loathe this song, and it's always on the radio.

day 03 - a song that makes you happy: - New In Town (Fred Falke Remix) by Little Boots. Such a good dancing song.

day 04 - a song that makes you sad: Crowd Surf Off a Cliff by Emily Haines. It makes me sad, but it's one of my absolute favourites.

day 05 -a song that reminds you of someone: Boom I Got Your Boyfriend by MC Luscious. Too good hahahaha.

day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere: I Want the World to Stop by Belle & Sebastian. The St. Lucia Song!

day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event: Last Name by Carrie Underwood. My 19th birthday. At the branch. Enough said.

day 08 - a song that you know all the words to: Got Your Money by Ol' Dirty Bastard. I'd say this one of my signature songs.

day 09 - a song that you can dance to: Got To Give It Up Pt. 1 by Marvin Gaye. Love it. So much.

day 10 - a song that makes you fall asleep: Alone in Kyoto by AIR. So soothing.

day 11 - a song from your favorite band: When The Lights Go Out by the Black Keys. I can't pick a favourite band, but the Black Keys are at the top of my list right now.

day 12 - a song from a band you hate: Porn Star Dancing by My Darkest Days. Who the fuck wrote this song. It's absolute shit. Featuring Chad Kroger. Surprise Surprise.

day 13 - a song that is a guilty pleasure: Hey Baby (Drop It To The Floor) by Pitbull ft. T-Pain. I love this song, not really sure why. Oooh baby baby.

day 14 - a song that no one would expect you to love: Zombie Nation (Sports Remix) by Kernkraft 400. I actually love going to athletic events, and this song reminds me of them.

day 15 - a song that describes you: Still by the Great Lake Swimmers. This was a really tough call.

day 16 - a song that you used to love but now hate: Apologise by Timbaland ft. One Republic. Make it stop.

day 17 - a song that you hear often on the radio: ET by Katy Perry ft. Kanye West. Not gonna lie, I sorta like it. Although it really reminds me of this.

day 18 - a song that you wish you heard on the radio: Rill Rill by Sleigh Bells. Lovely.

day 19 - a song from your favorite album: Pitter Patter Goes My Heart by Broken Social Scene. This album has a big presence on my 25 most played songs playlist.

day 20 - a song that you listen to when you’re angry: Talk Show Host by Radiohead.

day 21 - a song that you listen to when you’re happy: Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough by Michael Jackson. I absolutely HAVE to dance whenever I hear this.

day 22 - a song that you listen to when you’re sad: Breathe Me by Sia. This song makes my heart hurt.

day 23 - a song that you want to play at your wedding: That's How Strong My Love is by Otis Redding. Tough choice.

day 24 - a song that you want to play at your funeral: Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole. So happy.

day 25 - a song that makes you laugh: Jizz in My Pants by the Lonely Island. We're going to need a clean up in aisle three.

day 26 - a song that you can play on an instrument: Africa by Toto. Admit it, you're ridiculously impressed.

day 27 - a song that you wish you could play: Satisfy My Soul by Bob Marley and the Wailers. Sounds like sunshine.

day 28 - a song that makes you feel guilty: Hold On, Hold On by Neko Case. Makes me feel guilty for not including her elsewhere on the list, I adore her.

day 29 - a song from your childhood: (You Drive Me) Crazy by Britney Spears. From the first CD I ever owned.

day 30 - your favorite song at this time of year: Sugar Sugar by the Archies. Summer <3

whatever, everyone rags on jesus.

I have a new dream boyfriend. It's Chad VanGaalen. I just saw him in concert, at Christ Church for vivefest. It was awesome. Zombifyus opened and they killed it. Chad was also fantastic. He was performing songs from his soon-to-be released album Diaper Island. I've got a bit of a crush.  In between songs he joked around, I thought he was pretty charming. Also, I'm gonna throw this out there, he's pretty much a babe from the side. I guess the music was alright too. Kidding, I loved it.

On a side note, one of his guitar players felt the need to do the behind-the-head arm stretch. Uncalled for dude! A guitar, beard, and the behind-the-head arm stretch? What's a girl to do? xx

Here's a link to some highlights!
